Despite his failing health, ARIA Hall Of Fame recipient Max Merritt still managed to find the energy to turn to his songwriting best and, with the support of his close mate, Grammy-nominated sound man James ‘Jimbo’ Barton, Max was able to record the pick of the new material.
On every track from the new “I Can Dream” album, Max Merritt delivers his signature powerful vocal ability that totally belies his frail condition.
Max sadly passed away in Los Angeles on September 24, 2020.
He was well aware of his impending induction into The New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame and was incredibly thrilled and humbled by the honour. He was also hanging out to see this album released and his family have given their blessing to the release of these recordings.
