Martin Lass, born in Chicago developed an early passion for the violin at age eight after being inspired by Yehudi Menuhin on television.
In 1969, Lass and his family moved to Australia, where he pursued his musical education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Following his graduation, he joined the Australian Chamber Orchestra and performed with esteemed ensembles such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra (formerly the Elizabethan Sydney Orchestra).
