Join Australian Jazz maestro, legend, icon…. Don Burrows and one this country’s greatest voices of all time, Julie Anthony as they team up for what can only be described as a “Musical Marriage made in Heaven!”
On working with each other, Julie says “Don is a joy. What he creates is a magic carpet that will take you to undreamt realms of melody, harmony and wonder. It has been my privilege to be on stage with some great performers and you cannot help but be moved by their talent. But being on stage with Don’s Quartet is positively dangerous.”
Likewise, Don muses on the collaboration “I heard her occasionally and was always struck by her fine vocal quality, intonation and diction, plus she displayed a feel for lyrics which really impressed me. I decided to approach Julie to see if she had any interest in trying a change of direction, a change of material, a change from orchestral backing down to a jazz quartet. My quartet. Julie shared my enthusiasm for the idea and here we are - “Together At Last”. We decided to go “boots and all” and record our very first concert. I’m glad we did. I hope you are too.”
