As soon as this album title was suggested to me by my manager Robert, I was very excited. The vast selection of songs and artists to choose from seemed endless! My biggest challenge has been choosing which classics to include. The songs which I have chosen for this album all have a special meaning to me. Many of these songs I played as a teenager with my band in Liverpool, some I performed in touring musical theatre shows back in the 90’s performing across the UK, Europe and South Africa! Since the early 2000’s I have continued to explore The Great British Songbook, performing with big bands in both the UK and Australia as well as playing these classics with my very own swing band, at festivals and theatres in my new home ‘Down Under’. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoyed recording them. CM
